Rissani is a small town at the end of the road leading from Marrakech and through the Ziz Valley. Mostly made of sand and stone Rissani lies in a touristic area where you especially can visit the Sikilmassa ruins and the Zawaiya Moulay Ali ash Sharif tomb before entering the Sahara desert.

A lively souk

History has a long stretch in this region. It was founded a long time ago as a trade and caravan centre for the region. Even today, many stills travel through Rissani to get to other destinations.
